3 Reasons Short Hair is Sexy

The American standard of beauty has told us that long, beautiful blonde hair is the epitome of prime sexuality. For years, we have seen advertisements and models with waist-long hair because that is the standard for femininity. While long hair is beautiful and classic, short hair deserves to be recognized as sexy too. Here are 3 reasons why short hair is so fun and sexy! 

1. It Opens Up Your Features

Short hair is sexy because it opens up your face and neck. All of your features get their chance to shine, which is beautiful. Many people associate short hair with confidence because there is no way to hide behind your hair when you’re feeling nervous or overwhelmed. It is so sexy when someone allows themselves to be vulnerable. 

2. It Shows Your Ability to Ignore Societal Expectations 

Women who opt to have short hair are vibrantly telling society that they aren’t afraid to do what they want without a care for what’s expected of them. There is nothing sexier than a woman who is so secure in herself that she isn’t afraid to go against the grain of what’s expected to be her most authentic self. My favorite thing is to hype people up to do something different just because they want to.  

3. Short Hair is a Sign of Being a Survivor 

For many women, short hair wasn’t a choice they got to make for themselves. Some women have had illnesses or trauma that took away their long hair. It is so important to applaud and hold space for the women and people who have had to find confidence in their hair within their situations. Being a survivor is brave and sexy. For the survivors who are sharing this space with me, I see you and am so proud. Your confidence radiates, and I support your journey, my friend. 

Ultimately, sexuality is a sense of security in yourself that radiates from the inside out. It’s finding a look that allows you to show up as your best self, regardless of what society tells you. There is nothing wrong with finding classic beauty in line with what you want for yourself. However, as women and individuals, we must be willing to go against the grain to align with who we genuinely want to be. 

Regardless if you have long or short hair, you are gorgeous. Your hair doesn’t define your sexuality or confidence. You are beautiful and worthy of feeling hot no matter what!
