I'm Not Confident Enough in Myself to do a Boudoir Session.... Let's Talk About That!

One of the biggest reasons people give us for not wanting to do a boudoir session is that they don’t feel confident enough. If there is one thing I can say that I wish everyone could hear, confidence isn’t a prerequisite to book a photoshoot. In fact, Emma Early Photography wants you to come as you are, no matter where you are in your journey to love yourself. Our job is to make sure you leave our studio feeling more confident than ever before. Your job is to come into the studio with an open mind about having one of the best days of your life!

We have had women come to us who struggled to love their bodies and features and just needed to see themselves from a different perspective. Some of the women who struggled the most with their confidence before their first shoot have come back over and over again to do more shoots. If we waited until we felt 100% confident in ourselves, we might never make it to booking the shoot because society is constantly telling women they need to be more or less. Look at Rebecca’s story here to see the impact boudoir shoots have had on her own journey of self love and confidence! She wasn’t completely confident in herself before her first shoot. In her blogs, she talks about having some really big body image issues that held her back from a lot of things. She has been in the studio several times, and her self-confidence is in a completely different place now!

Boudoir photography is so impactful because it allows you to see yourself in ways that highlight your favorite parts of yourself or help you discover new favorite features in yourself. It’s a luxury experience that focuses on making you feel hyped up, sexy, and carefree. You have an incredible makeup artist who listens to you and brings your vision of self-expression to life. Emma Early Photography has an extensive client closet with lingerie from Extra Small to 6x, which shows there is so much thought and care that goes into empowering every body type and ability. The entire experience, from start to finish, is crafted so that you can leave outside life at the door and enjoy being present with yourself, which we all deserve.

Emma’s experience is different than a typical photoshoot because she coaches you through poses that are accessible and sexy for your body and abilities. Just scroll through her TikTok, and you will see countless behind the scenes videos of her walking through poses with multiple clients. (Don’t worry, clips aren’t shared on social media without consent from clients!). You will never have an awkward moment where you feel like you are expected to just know what’s next because constant guidance and communication are taking place. Your fears are discussed before the shoot so we know how to work through the entire process to make you feel comfortable.

If the thought of a boudoir shoot intimidates you, consider some of your hobbies or interests and incorporate those into your shoot. We have had women use flowers, their favorite shoes, d&d dice, books, food, and disco balls as props to make their boudoir shoot feel more true to themselves. We talk more about incorporating hobbies into your shoot here, so head over to that blog post for more inspiration.

All of that to say is that confidence isn’t a prerequisite to doing a boudoir shoot because our job is to help you find that confidence that may be buried within you. Let the testimonials and videos give you insight that you are also worthy of a luxury boudoir experience. Every single person who has left our studio has felt more confident, sexy, and empowered. We purposely work with all bodies and all abilities to be a welcoming space for you to find your power and confidence.

Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is trust the process and just do the damn thing, even if it feels scary. Maybe you’re feeling intimidated by booking a boudoir shoot and feel like you need to wait a little longer. We invite you to inquire here for a conversation. Let’s talk through those fears and get you excited about the results. Amazing things come out of doing scary things for ourselves!

Talk to you soon,
