What Happens if I am Nervous to Get my Makeup Done?
This post is for the women who may be a little apprehensive about the idea of having their makeup done professionally! For those who have never had their makeup done, it may be a little intimidating to have someone in your space to pamper you. Maybe you don’t even know your makeup style because beauty isn’t your everyday thing. Perhaps you feel nervous or insecure about your skin. I just want to assure you that your feelings are valid, no matter your situation.
I assure you that Emma’s team is incredible and prioritizes your preference. You will never have anything done to your face that goes against what you envision for yourself. Remember, this entire experience is a luxury service to pamper you. You are the main character throughout the whole day! I highly recommend putting together some inspiration to show Emma’s makeup artist. Her artists are professionals and will make your vision come to life in a way that compliments you best. Her team regularly works with people of all ethnicities and ages, so you will never have to worry about being “too much” or “too difficult” for them.
If you have a skin concern or ingredient allergy, let Emma know as soon as possible for the accommodations to be planned with the HMUA. I promise you have nothing to be embarrassed about. I also want to remind you that skin conditions and acne are a part of being human. They make you beautifully you. There is no need to be embarrassed about the state of your skin because we all understand that some things are out of our control. Emma and her team will work their magic to make blemishes and complexions look beautifully stunning.
What can you do to prep your face and skin for your session?
To ensure that your skin is as ready as possible for your session, make sure you have a good skincare routine in place. It’s acceptable and normal to have acne and scars; however, remember to keep nourishing your skin. Your skincare should include a solid cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and a good SPF. Eye cream and acne spot treatment are a bonus. Try to implement washing your face twice a day, morning and night. Don’t experiment with new skincare products at least two weeks before your session. Use products and ingredients that you’re confident your skin reacts well to.
Staying hydrated and exfoliating your body is a great way to keep your skin from head to toe looking beautiful and glowy. Don’t worry. Emma and her team will amplify your skin, so focus on consistency over perfection. If you have any concerns, Emma is fantastic at assuring you that you are perfect just as you are. Don’t be afraid to ask for reassurance.
On one last note, I want to share my favorite face mask. I do it once a week, which has been incredible for my skin! It’s Aztec Healing Clay mixed with Apple Cider Vinegar (water also works if you have sensitive skin). It’s natural and powerful. If you’re in the market for a good face mask, I cannot recommend this clay mask enough!
I hope you feel more excited to get your makeup done! You will have a sign with your name at the vanity; I promise, it feels like home. You deserve to be pampered, and you are in control. This entire experience is meant to help you love yourself and to remind you that you are absolutely stunning.
With much love,
